A Brief History

We will be celebrating 50 years of God's faithfulness this year!

Karratha Baptist Church was established in 1976 by a small group of faithful families who longed to see the Gospel proclaimed throughout the Pilbara. In those early days, roads were unsealed and gatherings were held in homes, yet their vision was steadfast.

Over the decades, God has richly blessed the church. A manse and meeting house were built, and as the congregation grew, the men of the church faithfully gathered each Saturday to construct the building we worship in today.

Through seasons of growth and challenge shaped by the rhythms of the mining industry, the church has remained anchored in its purpose—to proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ and to make disciples in His name.

Today, Karratha Baptist Church continues to be a light within the community, seeking to honour the Lord as His ambassadors in Karratha.

Why not become part of this ongoing story?

We are a SAFE Church

As a member church of the Baptist Churches Western Australia, we agreed to adopt the Safe Church Baptist Churches Western Australia (BCWA) recommendations in 2010.  It is important to us that we offer the safest possible leadership and environment for those who lead our ministries and for those they lead.

These recommendations ensure we are diligent in screening prospective leaders for our ministry programs, maintain good leadership practice and ensure all leaders working with children (under 18) obtain a Working With Children Check, National Police Check and attend Safe Church training.
